Hello readers and members,

AVM is a place where all are welcome to congregate and express rational, sensible and mature points of view and to pass on information. We have a particular charter to expose frauds, liars and wannabes.

However when it comes to Veteran matters [ the DVA definition of Veteran is clear and that is the definition we stand by ] we won't accept non Veterans making comment on Veteran matters unless they have some personal interaction with a Veteran family member or Veteran close friend whose life interacts with their own.

There are horses for courses.

Non Veterans are free to raise non Veteran matters in a sensible, truthfull and rational manner.

FROM THE VEA 1986

DEFINITION OF A VETERAN

"veteran" means:

                     (a)  a person:

                              (i)  who is, because of section 7,

taken to have rendered eligible war service; or

                             (ii)  in respect of whom a pension

 is payable under subsection 13(6); or

                            (iii)  who satisfies subsection 37(3); or

                     (b)  a member of the Forces;

                     (c)  a member of a Peacekeeping Force
